LAND NORTHWEST OF STONEHOUSE | PUBLIC CONSULTATION
CONTEXT
The site is situated adjacent to Stonehouse, which is identified as a Tier 1 Settlement in the Stroud Local Plan (2015), one of the main towns in the District. Tier 1 Settlements are identified as being the primary focus for growth and development, to provide significant levels of jobs, homes, community facilities and infrastructure.
The site forms part of a proposed allocation in the Draft Stroud Local Plan (November 2019), under Policy PS19a. Policy PS19a allocates the site (and additional land to the east of the site, which is outside of the scope of this consultation), as a strategic mixed-use development, to include up to 5ha of employment, 650 dwellings, a primary school, landscaping and green infrastructure.
